Cement museum opens Sunday

The Northampton Area Public Library will celebrate Children's Book Week with a special storytime Tuesday, May 13, 10 a.m., at the library, 1615 Laubach Ave.

Phyllis Palamaro, author of "Farmer Bonnie and Sally the Sad Cow," will be the featured guest.

The Friends of the Northampton Area Public Library are holding a community yard sale on Saturday, May 17, 9 a.m.-2 p.m., on the grounds of the library, 1615 Laubach Ave. It will be held rain or shine.

Food bank coin drop is Saturday

The Northampton Area Food Bank will hold a coin drop Saturday, April 26, 8 a.m.-3 p.m., on Held Drive. All proceeds will be used to purchase food.

St. Paul's United Church of Christ will host a breakfast on Saturday, April 26, 8 a.m.-1 p.m., in the social hall, 19th Street and Lincoln Avenue.

The menu includes eggs, pancakes, sausage, toast, juice and other beverages.

Accordian sessions at VFW

Northampton VFW Post 4714 will host button-box accordion jam sessions Friday nights, 8-11 p.m., at the Post home, 1204 Main St.

Authentic Austrian-Hungarian and German polkas and waltzes will be performed by local favorites such as Joe Weber, Emil Shanta and other accompanying accordion players.

There is a $2 donation requested.

Vera Bradley bingo to be held this Sunday

The Friends of the Northampton Area Public Library will be having a Vera Bradley Bingo on Sunday, April 6.

Doors open at 11 a.m., and the games begin at 1 p.m.

In addition to bingo, there will also be approximately 20 Chinese auction items, a bake sale, door prizes, consolation prizes and a 50/50 drawing.

Organizers are seeking sponsors for the prizes. Those donating will have their name printed in the program. Baked goods, monetary donations and Chinese auction items are also needed.

Food bank Super Bowl bingo Feb. 2

The Northampton Area Food Bank will hold its annual Super Bowl Sunday Bingo on Sunday, Feb. 2 at Good Shepherd Catholic School, 1320 Newport Ave. The snow date is Feb. 9.

Prizes include Vera Bradley products.

Doors open at noon and bingo starts at 2 p.m.

A Chinese auction will also be held. Baked goods and food will be available for purchase.

The cost of a ticket includes 20 games of bingo.

All proceeds support food purchases for the food bank clients.
