Food bank Super Bowl bingo set for Feb. 1

The Northampton Area Food Bank will hold its annual Super Bowl Sunday Bingo 2 p.m. Feb. 1 at the Good Shepherd Catholic School gym, 1200 Newport Ave.

The event will feature Vera Bradley products.

The cost of a ticket includes 20 games.

Other highlights include special games, a Chinese auction, 50/50 drawing, door prizes, a mystery envelope game and cash drawing.

Food will be available.

The inclement weather date is Feb. 8.

Borough offices closed for MLK Jr. Day

The Northampton Borough Municipal Building will be closed Monday, Jan. 19, in observance of the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday.

The Northampton Memorial Community Center, 16th Street and Laubach Avenue, will hold bingo Monday, Jan. 19. Doors open 5:30 p.m. The games begin 7 p.m.

The kitchen will be open.

Proceeds benefit the Northampton Borough Recreation Center.

Friendly Fifties to meet Jan. 12

St. John's Friendly Fifties will meet Monday, Jan.12, 1 p.m., in the church's social hall, 1343 Newport Ave.

Pianist Steve Myers will entertain.

If Northampton schools are delayed or closed, the meeting will be rescheduled for Jan. 19.

Northampton AARP Chapter 3915 will meet Wednesday, Jan. 14, at the Northampton Memorial Community Center, 1601 Laubach Ave.

Doors open at noon.

Those planning to attend are asked to bring a baked good to serve for refreshments. Musical entertainment will be provided.

Annual tree lighting set for Sunday

The borough will hold its annual tree-lighting ceremony on Sunday, Nov. 30, at Main Street and Laubach Avenue.

Good Shepherd Catholic School's choir will kick off the event with Christmas carols at 5:30 p.m.

Santa will arrive at 6 p.m.

The St. John's Friendly Fifties group will have its annual Christmas party on Wednesday, Dec. 3, at Northampton Memorial Community Center, Laubach Avenue and 16th Street.

Doors will open at 12:15 p.m.

Holy Trinity Lutheran bingo this Saturday

Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 1235 Main St., will hold a bingo fundraiser, featuring Longaberger and Vera Bradley products, on Saturday, Nov. 22.

Doors open at 11:30 a.m. Bingo starts at 1 p.m.
