German club officers elected

Congratulations to the following students who were elected as German Club Officers for the 2014-15 school year. They are Ashlyn Cantrel (president), Andrew Rice (vice president), Ashleigh Tomcics (treasurer) and Rain Czine (historian).


Picture retake day for underclassman is scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 23.


Any student who is still having issues with the installation of Microsoft Office on their computer should see Ms. Rader in the library related to the Microsoft software package.

CHS student council selling salsa

The Catasauqua High School Student Council is currently holding a salsa sale.

If you are interested in ordering salsa, see any student council member to place your order.

The sale ends Oct. 7.


Are you interested in a career that involves science, technology, engineering and/or math? Do you like to build things? Do you like to help people? Are you excited at the thrill of competition?

The STEM competition team might be for you if you answered yes to any of these questions.

2015 Prom planning to begin

Anyone interested in helping to plan the Catasauqua High School Junior-Senior Prom should go to room B221 during the activity period on Tuesday Sept. 30. If you would like to be on the prom committee but cannot attend the meeting, please see Frau and let her know.

Football shirts still on sale

The Catasauqua High School Green Team will be holding its first meeting 7:15 a.m. Monday, Sept. 22, in Mrs. Fisher's room, B216. Any student interested in environmental conservation is welcome to attend. If you are unable to make the meeting, sign-up sheets are hanging on her classroom window. Students who wish to run for Green Team office should print and fill out the form found on Mrs. Fisher's web page under the CHS Green Team tab.


Get your football T-shirts now

Catasauqua High School Rough Rider 2014 football T-shirts are now available and on sale in the high school athletic office.

Long sleeve shirts are $20 and short sleeve shirts are $15.

Stop by the office and pick up your shirt today.


Congratulations to the students who were elected as Class of 2017 officers: President Logan Heffelfinger, Vice President Selena Safadi, Secretary Jackie Garner, Treasurer Jade Biviano and Historian Kayla Binder.


CHS to host open house Tuesday

Any Catasauqua High School senior who will be driving to and from school this year should stop by the main office to pick up a parking permit.


CHS has scheduled an Open House and Meet the Teacher Night for 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 9.


The CHS after school / late bus will again be available starting the week of Sept. 8. Transportation will be available on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.


Time for CHS students to register for driver ed classes

Did we really have a summer? I'm honestly not completely sure we did.

The weather was fairly cooperative and there was plenty to do but here we are, in August, and I'm writing my first column of the new school year.

Ready or not, it's back to school time.


Catasauqua High School students will head back to school Aug. 25 to ring in the 2014-15 school year.

Doors open 7:34 a.m. and classes begin 7:40 a.m. Dismissal occurs 2:40 p.m.

Welcome, returning students and new students and freshman.

Fall sports, marching band sign-ups taking place now

Catasauqua High School fall sports and marching band sign-ups are now taking place in the athletic office.

If you are interested in playing a sport or joining the band, sign up now.


The CHS Guidance Office has reported that the non-Catasauqua Scholarship page on the high-school website has been updated.

Make sure you check out the many opportunities that are out there for scholarships.


Spirit day activities are quickly approaching at CHS.

Prom on May 2

Just a few reminders to all students who are attending the prom Friday, May 2. Students must attend school on May 2 until 11 a.m. This is a scheduled early dismissal.

Any student that is not present in school on May 2 will not be allowed to attend the prom that evening. In addition, all students must pay any obligations that they owe, which include paying for purchased prom tickets. If your financial obligations are not satisfied, you will not be allowed to attend the prom. If you have any questions, please see Mrs. DeBoer or the main office.
