Alarms summon police

Residential fire alarms brought borough police and the fire department out on two separate calls Sept 23.

One alarm was at 10 N. Front St. where the alarm was sounding at apartment 11. The residents there had been cooking bacon that activated the alarm, police said.

The other alarm was at 11 N. Front St. where the fire alarm came from apartment A-2, police said.

A check found no fire taking place, police said.
