Summer sports camps offered

Lehigh Carbon Community College’s athletic department will offer sport camps at its main campus in Schnecksville. The camps will be held in June and July.

Cougar Camp Sports and Fun will be held 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m. All four sessions are for children in grades K through 8. There is a cost per weekly session. Students will learn age-appropriate fundamentals of basketball, baseball, volleyball, soccer and golf while playing other fun games and activities. LCCC coaches and athletes will teach instruction in a different sport each day. Campers must bring their own lunch.

Keep America Beautiful is accepting applications for the 2017-18 National Youth Advisory Council, which provides an opportunity for high school students to participate in a service learning and leadership development program.

YAC members will provide a point of view in assessing Keep America Beautiful programs, implement local service projects and act as ambassadors and leaders for youth service in their communities.

This workshop will guide you through the process of constructing your own, fully functioning rain barrel.

Support group to meet April 20

Support Group for Survivors of Suicide Loss will meet 7-8:30 p.m. April 20 in Room 118 at First Presbyterian Church of Allentown, 3231 W. Tilghman St., Allentown.

Participants should use the church parking lot across the street from McDonald’s on Cedar Crest Boulevard.

This support group is sponsored by the Greater Lehigh Valley Chapter of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.

Lehigh Carbon Community College will host the 14th Annual LCCC Foundation Scholarship Clay Shoot April 28 at Lehigh Valley Sporting Clays in Coplay.

The event is open to the public. Registrations are being accepted. Proceeds benefit need-based scholarships and grants for LCCC students.

Join your East Penn volunteer leaders 1-4 p.m. April 1, at the grand reopening of the Sweet and Sassy Salon, located within The Promenade Shops at Saucon Valley, 3045 Center Valley Pkwy, Ste. 104, Center Valley, to learn more about The Fresh Air Fund’s Friendly Towns Program.

Local volunteers will share their experiences hosting New York City children and can answer any questions. Sweet and Sassy Salon will be providing all event guests with free hair makeovers, limo rides, sweet treats, dancing and singing.

The free Pennsylvania Campground Owners Association’s Campground Directory is now available.

The magazine lists 229 campgrounds and RV resorts in Pennsylvania and is a must for all RVers and tenters.

The directory divides the state into eight geographic areas with maps, color coding and detailed facility listings for PCOA member campgrounds within each area.

Each of the 229 members of the association is listed with the name, mailing address, phone numbers, access directions, number of sites and listing of facilities.

April 7 event to be held at Westgate Mall

State Rep. Dan McNeill, D-133rd, and state Sen. Lisa Boscola, D-18th, will hold their annual Spring Senior Fair April 7 at Westgate Mall.

“Every year, this event has gotten bigger and better, with close to 100 vendors and more than 500 seniors attending last year,” McNeill said. “We are looking forward to another great turnout.”

The free event will be held 9 a.m.-noon at 2285 Schoenersville Road.

There will be door prizes and free refreshments.

No RSVP is necessary to attend.

Volunteers needed


The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation and the Department of Environmental Protection are seeking volunteers for this year’s Great American Cleanup of Pennsylvania, continuing through May 31.

The cleanup is sponsored each year by Penn- DOT, DEP, Keep Pennsylvania Beautiful and other partners. Groups participating in PennDOT’s Adopt-A-Highway program, which involves volunteers cleaning roadsides year round, are also encouraged to participate in the cleanup.
