Catasauqua: Watch for social isolation in community

During the month of February, Suburban North Family YMCA will be delivering care packages to adults in need in the community every Tuesday afternoon. The care packages will consist of miscellaneous items, such as toiletries, hats and gloves.

It is understood the long cold months make it difficult to get out and about, and social isolation can lead to many things.

Holy Trinity dinner fundraiser helps PA Wounded Warriors

Holy Trinity Memorial Lutheran Church, 604 Fourth St., Catasauqua, held a prime rib dinner Dec. 15, 2019, to support the Pennsylvania Wounded Warriors program. The national program has high administrative costs, reducing the funds that are used to help veterans. Holy Trinity Memorial Lutheran Church opted to assist the unaffiliated state organization that works to provide enhanced services to veterans in Pennsylvania.

I’m so thankful Coplay Borough decided to continue to display the nativity scene. I’m also grateful that St. Peter Roman Catholic Church provided the space for this beautiful display.

As Linus said to Charlie Brown, “That’s what Christmas is all about.”

God bless America, and God bless the little town of Coplay, the “1 square mile of God’s little masterpiece”!
