I hope students and their families had a restful and warm Thanksgiving break together.

Now it's back to books, classes, projects and tests for Catasauqua Middle School students.


The CMS-PTF Spirit Dance will be held this Friday, 7-9 p.m., in the middle school gymnasium.

The dance, previously scheduled for Nov. 16, was rescheduled for this Friday evening.

Development still stirring controversy

While the decision to vote on an agreement to develop the FL Smidth property on Front Street was delayed yet again, the issue continues to stir debate for Catasauqua residents. At the Catasauqua Borough Council's workshop session Monday, Councilman Vincent Smith reported that the borough has received the latest revision to the proposed agreement with Weston Solutions, the borough's proposed developer for the property.

In October, residents in Hanover Township's Sherwood Park area swarmed the township's new municipal meeting chambers, protesting the idea that A. Duie Pyle, a trucking company, would build a repair facility on vacant land near the Carmike Theater.

At that time, Attorney Joseph Piperato, who represents A. Duie Pyle, said the company's plan would be explained at a public hearing. That public hearing was held on Nov. 14. Over 50 people crowded into the meeting room.

If your child has a drug addiction, you can never be suspicious enough.

The Northampton Area Historical Society will open the doors of the Siegfried Railroad Station for two weekends for its annual Christmas at the Station.

The event is scheduled for this weekend, Saturday, Dec. 1, 10 a.m.-2 p.m., and Sunday, Dec. 2, from 1-3 p.m. The second weekend will be Saturday, Dec. 8, 10 a.m.-2 p.m., and Sunday, Dec. 9, 1- 3 p.m.
