James R. Andrews, 66, of North-ampton and formerly of Carbondale,died Dec. 18, 2012, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Muhlenberg Campus, Bethlehem. He was the husband of Susan (Brady) Andrews for 43 years.

Born In Carbondale, he was a son of the late George and Helen (Alex) Andrews.

He was a Marine during the Vietnam era, during which he received the Marine Corps Dress Blues Award which was given to the most outstanding Marine in his platoon.

He was a business manager for the Laborers Local Union 158 from which he was retired.

Dorothy Mae (Dunstan) Peters

Dorothy Mae (Dunstan) Peters, 85, of Allentown, died Dec. 15, 2012, at Sacred Heart Hospital after suffering a stroke on Dec. 11, 2012. She was the wife of the late Quintus E. Peters.

Born in Catasauqua, she was a daughter of the late Paul and Myrtle (Dettera) Dunstan.

She was employed by former C.M. Smith Textile Company, Allentown, as a board setter and quiller for 43 years before retiring in 1985.

She was of the Protestant faith.

She was a volunteer singer with the Salvation Army.

Thomas "Duffer" R. Harding

Thomas "Duffer" R. Harding, 62, of North Catasauqua, died Dec. 19, 2012, from complications of diabetes at his residence. He was the husband of Sigrid (Bergmann) Harding of North Catasauqua.

Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Robert and Alverta (Hammer) Harding.

He bartended in local establishments and worked in printing for TGF, Hellertown.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons, Dave, Johnny and Troy; a brother, Michael Harding; a sister Julia and her husband Larry Weik; two grandchildren, Alexis and Johnny; and nieces and nephews.

Betty L. Herbinger

Betty L. Herbinger, 98, of Whitehall and formerly of Northampton, died Dec. 13, 2012, at Fellowship Community, Whitehall Township. She was the wife of the late Karl J. Herbinger.

Born in Neu Ulm, Germany, she was a daughter of the late Friederick and Mathilde Preschenk.

She was a maitre-d and a coat check worker, who also performed other duties for the Blue Bell Inn, Blue Bell, and the former Gourmet Inn, Northampton, for 35 years. In Germany, from 1932 to 1954, she was a seamstress.

She was a member of St. Nicholas Roman Catholic Church, Berlinsville.

Errold D. Finley

Errold D. Finley, 91, of Catasauqua, died Dec. 21, 2012, in Manor Care, Bethlehem. He was the husband of the late Ethel V. (Miller) Finley.

Born in Catasauqua, he was a son of the late William and Ruth Finley.

He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran.

He retired from the machine shop at the former Bethlehem Steel.

He is survived by a daughter, Lina and her husband Harold Siegfried of Catasauqua; three grandchildren, Michael, Scott and his wife Brenda and Kristy and wife Tammy; and three great-grandchildren, Scott Jr., Christian and Gabrielle.

Sharen D. Missimer, 71, of North Whitehall Township and formerly of North Catasqua, died Dec. 18, 2012, in her home. She was the wife of Bruce R. Missimer for 34 years.

Born in Allentown, she was a daughter of the late Vincent D. and Jean M. (Reese) Dougherty.

She worked for the County of Lehigh, District Court Clerk, for many years, retiring in 2008.

She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Egypt.

Mary "Ginna" Virginia Hornfeck, 80, died Dec. 18, 2012, at Gracedale Nursing Home, Nazareth.

Born in McKeesport, she was a daughter of Ray and Marie (Burke) Hornfeck.

She was of the Roman Catholic faith.

She is survived by two sisters, caregiver Sheila A. LaFrankie of Bethlehem and June Cirucci of Elizabeth Township; nieces; and nephews.

She was predeceased by two brothers, Raymond of Elizabeth Township and Richard of Silver City, N.M.

Arrangements were made by Gilbert Funeral Home Inc., Whitehall.

Stephen Choy, 85, of Coplay, died Dec. 18, 2012, at St. Luke's Hospice House, Bethlehem. He was the husband of the late Evelyn M. (Kuhns) Choy.

Born in Palmerton, he was a son of the late Theodore and Anna (Pontician) Choy.

He was a foreman for the former Bethlehem Steel Corporation.

He was a member of St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, Coplay.

He was a lifetime member of the American Club, Coplay.

He is survived by a son, Peter Choy; three grandchildren, Natalie and her husband Matthew Dietrich and Alyssa and Lewis Fendrick; and four great-grandchildren.

Willis "Pops" C. Strein

Willis "Pops" C. Strein, 78, of Whitehall, died Dec. 12, 2012. He was the husband of Martha (Burd) Strein for 58 years.

He was a 1951 graduate of Liberty High School. He graduated from Mansfield State College and earned a master's degree from Lehigh University.

He taught in the Catasauqua Area School District for 38 years until he reitred in 1993. He started and was involved with the track and field program for 30 years. Following that, he worked for VAST until 2004.

He attended Bethany Bible Fellowship Church, Whitehall.
