Conrad G. Gehman, 80, of Macungie, died April 28, 2014, at the home of his daughter Terri. He was the husband of Bernice S. (McClauian) Gehman for 51 years.
Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Norman and Alma (Metzler) Gehman.
He was in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Panama during the Korean War.
He was a mechanic at Mack Trucks for 33 years before retiring in 1987.
Katie Cocca, 86, of Fullerton, died April 28, 2014, in her home. She was the wife of John A. Cocca for 65 years.
Born in Gilberton, she was a daughter of the late Lesco and Mary (Bonchak) Guzie.
She was a member of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Catholic Church, Whitehall.
John C. Reiss, 84, of Whitehall, died April 27, 2014, as a result of an auto accident. He was the husband of Katherine E. (Henne) Reiss for 63 years.
Born in Lower Saucon Township, he was a son of the late Howard and Anna (Schaffer) Reiss.
He was a finisher at the former Bethlehem Furniture Factory until he retired.
He was a member of Cedar Crest Bible Fellowship Church, Allentown, where he was a greeter and an usher.
He volunteered at Fellowship Manor, Whitehall.
Linda S. (Horn) Rohr, 62, of Emmaus, formerly of Catasauqua, died May 2, 2014, at Weston Senior Living, where she had been residing. She was the wife of the late Robert H. Rohr. Born in Allentown, she was the daughter of the late Kermit W. and Marguerite E. (Moser) Horn.
She was a graduate of Dieruff High School, class of 1969.
She was employed as a certified nursing assistant at Good Shepherd Specialty Hospital, Allentown for 23 years last working in 2006.
She attended the Bible Baptist Church, Breinigsville.
Barbara B. (BenVenuti) Lofland, 66, of Newark, Del. and formerly of Northampton, died April 25, 2014, in her home.
Born in Northampton, she was a daughter of the late Charles E. and Harriet M. (Miller) BenVenuti.
She was a 1965 graduate of Northampton High School. She graduated from West Chester State Teacher's College.
She was an elementary school teacher in the Newark, Del., Area School District for many years.
She was a member of Westminster Prebyterian Church, Wilmington, Del., and formerly attended St. Paul's U.C.C., Northampton.
Michael E. Shimshy, 66, of Northampton, died April 25, 2014, at his home. He was the husband of the late Helen M. (Miller) Shimshy.
Born in Catasauqua, he was a son of the late Michael and Dorothy (Schuler) Shimshy.
He was a steel fabricator for the former Fuller Company, Catasauqua, before retiring.
He is survived by two daughters, Billie Jo and her husband James Mayer and Julie Mulzet-Harter; three sons, Richard, Wayne and Edward Mulzet; two sisters, Dorothy and her husband Glenn Burns and Elaine Groller; 10 grandchildren; and 16 great–grandchildren.
Nancy L. Schoeneberger, 75, formerly of Northampton and North Catasauqua, died April 25, 2014, at Gracedale.
Born in Hokendauqua, she was a daughter of the late Charles E. Sr. and Elizabeth (Almond) Renner.
She was a graduate of Catasauqua High School.
She was a machine operator for Cross Country Clothes, Northampton for 29 years. Prior to her retirement, she worked at Wal-Mart, Whitehall.
She is survived by two sons, Richard "Rick" D. Jr. and his wife Tina of North Catasauqua and Rand D. of Allentown.
She was predeceased by a brother, Charles E. Renner Jr.
Daniel D. Diehl, 85, of Northampton and formerly of North Catasauqa, died April 26, 2014, in Allentown. He was the husband of the late Kathryn "Casey" E. (Case) Diehl.
Born in East Allen Township, he was a son of the late Arthur C. Sr. and Ruth (Dech) Diehl.
He was a U.S. Navy Seabee during World War II and was also a U.S. Merchant Marine.
He worked in the 48" rolling mill at Bethlehem Steel for more than 23 years.
Edgar A. Newhart, 52, of Walnutport, died April 19, 2014, at his home.
Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Edgar Newhart and Barbara (Matika) Newhart of Whitehall.
He played drums with his band.
He is survived by two daughters, Megan L. and Katelyn A.; a sister, Carolyn Dougherty; and companion, Lucille D. Fritzinger.
A calling hour will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. followed by a memorial service at 11 a.m. May 3, both at Zion Stone United Church of Christ, 51 Church Road, Kreidersville.
Erika A.(Reidl) Kuther, 75, of Whitehall and formerly of Flemington, N.J., died April 18, 2014, in her home. She was the wife of the late Frederick Kuther.
Born in Graz, Austria, she was a daughter of the late Rudolph and Anthonia (Cherney) Reidl.
She and her late husband owned and operated the former Vienna Restaurant and Bakery, Flemingon, N.J., for many years before retiring.
She is survived by a daughter, Cynthia M. and her husband David Bartos of Allentown; and a step grandson, Michael R. Bartos of Whitehall.
