Richard "Dick" D. Scheirer, 84, of Whitehall, died April 15, 2014, in Whitehall Manor. He was the husband of the late Betty J. Scheirer for 56 years.
Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Luther and Verna (Rabenold) Scheirer.
He was a 1948 graduate of Allentown High School. He was a graduate of Lafayette College.
He was in the U.S. Air Force in Korea as a radio technician during the Korean conflict.
He was an electrical engineer for Monarch Precast and Western Electric, both of Allentown, until retiring.
Nelson W. Heffelfinger, 78, of Northampton, died April 19, 2014, at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Muhlenberg, Bethlehem. He was the husband of Dolores (Pfeiffer) Heffelfinger for 50 years.
Born in Northampton, he was a son of the late Howard and Grace (Dettmer) Heffelfinger.
He was an SP4 in the U.S. Army.
Walter R. Schlener, 78, died April 19, 2014, in his home, He was the husband of Jeanne (Brosky) Schlener for 54 years.
Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Walter A. and Dorothy (Dieter) Schlener.
He was a 1954 graduate of Whitehall High School.
He was a Korean War U.S. Army veteran.
He was retired from the Bethlehem Steel Corporation and from the Pro Shop, Willowbrook Golf Course, Catasauqa.
He was a member of the Catasauqua American Legion Post 215.
Jeffrey J. Shelanick, 42, of Northampton, died recently at Lehigh Valley Hospital–Muhlenberg. He was the husband of Donna (Dudash) Shelanick for 11 years.
Born in Allentown, he was a son of James B. and Rosemarie (Filipovits) Shelanick Sr. of Northampton.
He worked at Keystone Cement Company for several years.
He was a member of the Northampton Liederkranz, the dart league, the American Legion, the Northampton Veterans of Foreign Wars and the L&M pool league.
He was a disc jockey.
Edward W. Scherman, 59, of Catasauqua, died April 18, 2014, in his home. He was the husband of Susan A. (Roth) Scherman for 34 years.
Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Edward W. and Margaret A. (Valent) Scherman.
He was a 1972 graduate of Allen Area Senior High School, Allentown.
He worked in the distribution department of Kraft Foods, Fogelsville, for 34 years, retiring in 2008.
He was a Catholic.
Margaret M. (Krause) Miller, 88, of Whitehall and formerly of Allentown, died April 16, 2014, at Lehigh Valley Hospital–Cedar Crest. She was the wife of the late Andrew J. Miller Jr.
Born in Allentown, she was a daughter of the late Wilson and Kathryn (Byrd) Krause.
She was a textile worker at the former Berklee Manufacturing, Allentown, for 17 years before retiring.
She was a member of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, Allentown.
Dorothy "Dottie" (Prinz) Wiltraut, 88, of Fullerton, died April 15, 2014. She was the wife of Richard "Dick" Wiltraut for 65 years.
She was a daughter of the late John and Marie (Durr) Prinz.
She was a founding member of the Whitehall Historical Society and was instrumental in restoring Helfrich Springs Grist Mill. She helped establish the biblical herb garden at St. John's Lutheran Church and was chair of the social ministry committee. She formed the Feast of Fools clown troupe.
Robert J. Panny, 78, of Cementon, died April 14, 2014, in Lehigh Valley Hospital-Muhlenberg.
Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Adolph and Anna (Klucsarits) Panny.
He was a bank teller for many years. He was also a nurse's aide.
He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Whitehall.
He was a member of the West Coplay Mannerchor.
He is survived by four sisters, Stella Lubenetski of Whitehall, Margaret Held of Va., and Agnes Panny and Marie Polzer, both of Whitehall; nieces; nephews; great nieces; and great nephews.
Jesse Michael Crossley, 20, of Catasauqua, died April 14, 2014.
Born in Catasauqua, he was a son of Tina M. (Saling) Crossley and Russell T. and stepmother Audra V. Crossley.
He was an honor roll student and a 2012 graduate of Catasauqua High School.
He was an April 2013 graduate of the Air National Guard, San Antonio/Lackland,Texas. He was enlisted with the 211th Engineering Installation Squadron at Fort Indiantown Gap.
He was gas/diesel attendant or "fuel engineer" for Haines Exxon.
Jennifer Lynn (Meleschuk) Ebert, 65, of Walnutport, died April 12, 2014, in Lehigh Valley Hospital as a result of a car accident. She was the wife of John J. Ebert for 44 years.
Born in New York City, she was a daughter of Helen (Grynwich) Werner of Whitehall and the late Stephen A. Meleschuk.
She was a 1966 graduate of Parkland High School.
She worked in central scheduling, Lehigh Valley Hospital, for more than 30 years.
She was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Berlinsville.
