Dump truck hits car at Municipal Road, Lehigh Drive

A woman was flown to a local hospital from the scene of a crash on Route 248 in Lehigh Township Nov. 29.

Township police said a blue Chrysler Sebring, driven by Joan Frable, 77, of Lehigh Township, was on Municipal Road at a stop sign facing north, at the intersection of Route 248 (Lehigh Drive) 10:02 a.m.

According to a witness, upon pulling into the intersection, the Sebring was struck by an orange tri-axle dump truck. The truck was fully loaded at the time. The truck was owned by NS Paving of Lehighton and operated by Corey Mann, 49, of East Stroudsburg.

Police and UGI were on the scene of a fire in the 600 block of Limestone Street.

Resident turns self in after 2017 robbery

Lehigh Township

Steven Poliquin, 29, of Lehigh Township, has been arrested for a 2017 armed robbery at Turkey Hill in Cherryville.

Lehigh Township Police Department said Poliquin contacted Lehigh Township police to turn himself in for the armed robbery that occurred approximately 10 p.m. Dec. 17, 2017, at the market, located at the intersection of Blue Mountain Drive and Lehigh Drive.

The initial police report stated a male subject wearing a mask and brandishing a firearm entered the store and held up the clerk.

At Whittier Place Apartments, 895 Walnut St., officers assisted a resident who fell.

Police assisted North Catasauqua officers in the 1200 block of Eighth Street for a report of an open door.

In the 100 block of Wood Street, police investigated a disturbance report. Members of the department gave advice regarding the domestic issue.

Simon Antipas, 35, of Catasauqua, was arrested for simple assault and physical harassment and contact in the 100 block of Wood Street.

Officers assisted Emmaus Police Department in the 100 block of Bridge Alley. A male, who had two warrants, was located, taken into custody and released to an Emmaus officer.

A reportable accident involving four vehicles took place in the 900 block of Main Street.

The department investigated a report of a male being threatened via phone in the 100 block of West 14th Street.
