911 hang-up calls

Two hang-up calls on Dec. 24 when 911 was dialed brought police to a South Second Street home and another unidentified residence.

In one incident it was a misdial and in the separate case, it was a child playing with the phone.

Cooking sets off alarm

A report of a fire alarm on Dec. 25 brought police to an apartment at 10 N. Front St. Police said the alarm was set off by cooking.

The borough fire department responded and handled the situation accordingly.

· Officers were called to Lumber Liquidaters, 1204 MacArthur Road, to investigate a report of a window shot out with a BB gun.

· Police responded to a report of a man yelling at a pet bird at Whitehall Commons, 3 Maryland Circle.

· A report of a threat brought officers to Whitehall High School, 3800 Mechanicsville Road.

· Police responded to the theft of a handicap placard, cables and cleaning products from a vehicle in the 1300 block of Fairmont Street.

Catasauqua High School student dies in car accident

One other dead, two injured Saturday

A Catasauqua High School student was pronounced dead Saturday, Dec. 29, at the intersection of Race and Railroad streets.

Jaenis Delossantos, 18 and a senior at CHS, was a passenger in a vehicle operated by Thomas R. Bono, according to a news release issued by Chief Douglas Kish of the Catasauqua Police Department.

The vehicle, Kish reported, was traveling west on Race Street when Bono lost control of the automobile and struck a utility pole at 6:15 a.m. at the 100 block of Race Street.

· A report of a suspicious person brought officers to the 700 block of Chapel Street.

Suspicious person reported

Coplay police on Dec. 12 responded at 1:30 p.m. to a call about a suspicious person.

A resident of the unit block of South Front Street told police he saw an unknown man looking into a window at the rear of his residence.

Police said the resident chased the unidentified man on foot south on Front Street into Whitehall Township, after which time he lost contact.

Police are investigating.

Officers respond to 911 hang up

A report of a 911 hang-up Dec. 18 at 6:08 p.m. had police responding to an apartment at 11 N. Front St.
