Trash cans stolen

Borough police on May 17 were called to the unit block of Chestnut Street for a report of stolen garbage cans.

Police said a neighbor observed two men in a white Ford pickup truck with a loud exhaust pull alongside the residence. One man got out of the truck and placed the trash cans into the vehicle, driving away south on Grape Alley, police said.

Man cited

Daniel Walker, 28, of 3015 S. Second St., Whitehall Township, was escorted home Friday, May 17 after Coplay police cited him with public drunkenness.

Student caught with drug paraphernalia

A 14-year-old juvenile was found to have drug paraphernalia at Catasauqua High School, 2500 W. Bullshead Road, Allen Township.

In her possession was a glass pipe used for smoking marijuana, police said.

Job site death reported

The accidental death of Paul Daniel Mast, 28, of Columbia, Pa., brought state police May 21 to Seiple Farms, Nor Bath Boulevard, East Allen Township.

commended

The Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency has commended the Coplay Police Department for consistently filing timely police reports to the Victims Compensation Assistance Program.

Lehigh County District Attorney James B. Martin wrote a letter to Coplay police saying it was one of only 269 departments in the state to be commended.

Burglary reported

Police responded to a burglary May 1 in the 3700 block of Cherryville Road, Allen Township, Northampton County.

Unknown individuals broke into the residence and stole a .22 caliber long rifle, Coleman generator, Dewalt Sawzall and binoculars, police said.

Information sought

Lehigh Valley Crime Stoppers is offering a reward up to $2,000 for any information leading to the arrest of those responsible for the murder of Jamar McLean, 21.
