Lehigh Township woman charged with prostitution

A Lehigh Township woman has been charged with prostitution.

According to Lehigh Township police, Linda Michelson, 55, of Pecan Lane, was arrested and charged April 26 with prostitution.

The arrest was the culmination of an ongoing investigation of complaints about a large amount of traffic coming in and out of her residence, the report said.

Police were able to locate several advertisements on known websites where prostitution solicitation occurs and where Michelson had posted advertisements.

Free VIN-etching event set for May 13 in Whitehall Township

Lehigh County District Attorney Jim Martin has announced the Lehigh County Auto Theft and Insurance Fraud Task Force has scheduled a free Vehicle Identification Number (VIN)-etching event May 13 in Whitehall Township.

The event will be from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Whitehall Township Public Works building, 3219 MacArthur Road. The event is open to all vehicle owners in Lehigh County, and there is no limit to the number of vehicles that motorists can bring to the event.

Whitehall Township police apprehend wanted man

Whitehall Township police on April 13 responded to a report of a wanted man in the 1200 block of North Lehigh Avenue.

According to a news release provided by township Chief of Police Michael J. Marks, police received a call around noon regarding the unwanted man. Upon arrival, police determined Angel Leon Jr. was inside a residence on North Lehigh Avenue, the release said.

The release also said Leon was taken into custody 4 p.m. without incident and was transported to Lehigh County Central Booking.

Leon is wanted on multiple warrants in Berks County, the release noted.

Passenger in cycle crash dies of injuries

A Northampton woman, a passenger in a fatal motorcycle crash that took the life of a Palmerton area man, has died of her injuries sustained in the crash.

The Lehigh County coroners’ office said Pamela Kellow, 48, of 557 Washington Ave., died at 12:21 a.m. April 20 at St. Luke’s Hospital, Bethlehem.

Coroner Scott Grim ruled the cause of death as severe head injuries and the manner of death an accident.
