Whitehall woman dies after crash

LEHIGH TOWNSHIP

A Whitehall woman died May 8 after a collision involving a motorcycle and a motor vehicle that took place the day before.

The crash occurred May 7 on Route 248 at Route 145 in Lehigh Township, Northampton County, at approximately 6:50 p.m.

According to Scott Grim, Lehigh County coroner, Taylor Hutnick, 26, of Whitehall, was the passenger on the motorcycle.

The coroner said she was pronounced dead 2:53 a.m. at St. Luke’s Hospital, Bethlehem.

Danielsville man dies in Allen crash

A Danielsville man died May 7 in an early-morning accident in Allen Township.

According to state police, Terry E. Landis, 62, was traveling northbound on Kreidersville Road approximately 2:30 a.m. when he lost control of his vehicle, a 2002 Pontiac Sunfire, while negotiating a left-hand turn. As he crossed the double-yellow line into the southbound lane, police said, the car began to spin, eventually hitting an embankment.

A theft from a vehicle in the 1100 block of Sixth Street was investigated.

Police responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle in the 1000 block of Third Street.

On Race Street, a hit-and-run accident occurred, the department said.

A hazardous condition on Lehigh Street was reported. A drain was opened, and the high water subsided.

A problem with two stray cats in the 200 block of Second Street was reported to police.

In the 100 block of Mulberry Street, officers investigated a parking complaint.

Stephen Csanadi, 66, of Catasauqua, was arrested for criminal trespassing/entering a building on Willow Street. The investigation is continuing.

The theft of a vehicle in the 2600 block of Main Street brought police to the scene. A 1999 Dively two-car trailer was taken from the backyard of a residence.

Police investigated a credit card fraud case in the 300 block of Anthony Drive.

Lehigh Township man dies in North Whitehall crash

An 81-year-old Northampton County man was killed when the vehicle he was driving struck a tree around 6 p.m. April 28 in front of 3914 Mauch Chunk Road, North Whitehall Township.

Robert Drey, of Lehigh Township, was pronounced dead by Lehigh County Deputy Coroner Richard Kroon at 6:40 p.m. at the scene, Lehigh County Coroner Scott Grim said.

According to the coroner’s office, an autopsy was performed April 30 to determine the cause and manner of Drey’s death.
