A hazardous condition on Fourth Street brought police to the scene.

A school bus violation occurred on Orchard Drive.

Officers investigated a disturbance on Scheidys Road.

A parking complaint on Virginia Avenue was filed with the department.

AUG. 30

An alarm sounded on MacArthur Road.

Police investigated a protection-from-abuse order on Olympic Circle.

North Catasauqua police

SEPT. 3

Police investigated a possible DUI offense at Oak Alley and Grove Street.

Suspicious activity in the 1000 block of Third Street was reported to the department.

SEPT. 4

At Second and Arch streets, officers responded to a report of suspicious activity.

Suspicious activity in the 1000 block of Howertown Road was reported.

Officers assisted Catasauqua police in the 700 block of Railroad Street.

Police assisted a citizen in the 200 block of South Second Street.

The department received an animal complaint for a dog running loose in the unit block of North Eighth Street.

SEPT. 5

In the 100 block of Center Street, police investigated a parking complaint.

The department received a parking complaint in the 100 block of South Second Street.

A traffic stop was conducted at Chestnut and North Ruch streets. A warning was issued.

Sobriety checkpoints planned for September

Lehigh Valley

According to information provided by Lehigh County DUI Task Force Coordinator and South Whitehall Police Sgt. George Hummel, the Lehigh Valley Regional DUI Task Force will be conducting sobriety checkpoints in Lehigh County during the month of September.

A sobriety checkpoint is a traffic safety checkpoint wherein police systematically stop vehicles at selected locations to briefly observe drivers for articulable signs and/or behaviors normally associated with drivers impaired by alcohol and/or drugs.

North Catasauqua police

AUG. 27

A theft from a vehicle occurred in the 600 block of Palomino Drive.

The department received a general complaint in the 700 block of Grove Street.

A theft occurred in the 1100 block of Second Street, police said.

Officers assisted Catasauqua police on Front Street for a reported assault.

Police conducted a welfare check in the 1100 block of Second Street.

A theft occurred in the 1200 block of Third Street.

Range Road to close Sept. 7 for accident reconstruction

Whitehall Township police will close Range Road between Eberhart Road and the rear entrance to Whitehall Commons (Walmart) at 7 a.m. Sept. 7 so officers can follow up with accident reconstruction for the fatal vehicle crash that occurred Sept. 1. The closure is expected to last less than three hours.

Township officers will be assisted by the Pennsylvania State Police, who will be bringing a laser mapping system to speed the process.
