The department received a parking complaint in the 1100 block of Chestnut Street.

Police received a complaint of fireworks in the 1100 block of Poplar Street.

In the 1000 block of Chestnut Street, officers responded to a report of criminal mischief.

Officers investigated a parking complaint in the unit block of South Third Street.

DA rules police shooting of Coplay man is justified

Lehigh County District Attorney Jim Martin ruled July 7 the shooting of a man May 21 by four Allentown City Police Department Officers was “entirely justified.”

The officer-involved shooting of Joseph M. Hodgin, of Coplay, North Whitehall, occurred near North 19th and Green streets, Allentown, resulting in Hodgin’s death.

According to a July 7 report released by Martin, the officers’ use of deadly force was justified on the basis of a reasonable belief Hodgin posed an imminent risk to the officers and others.

On Second Street, an issue between neighbors brought out police.

In the 1100 block of Poplar Street, the search of a home was conducted. The suspect was located.

A wanted person was picked up on a warrant on Front Street, police said.

On Cambridge Place, police assisted a citizen.

Criminal mischief in the 100 block of Bridge Street was investigated. The department said charges are pending.

Former teacher charged with unlawful contact with a minor

Lehigh County District Attorney Jim Martin announced Tuesday that a former teacher at Whitehall High School has been charged in relation to his alleged inappropriate contact with students.

David Andrew Borghesani, 29, of 415 Morton Ct., Northampton, has been charged with one count each of Unlawful Contact with a Minor, a felony of the third degree, and Corruption of Minors, a misdemeanor of the first degree. He was arraigned through Central Booking Tuesday.
