March Students of the Month honored

Second-graders to perform

Second-graders will perform their music program on stage for families and friends April 24 at 7 p.m. on the Sheckler stage.

Be sure to come on out and enjoy the show.


Science PSSA testing for fourth-grade students will take place April 23-24. Students should try to get a good night's rest and eat a healthy breakfast.


Scheduled appointments for kindergarten registration for the 2013-14 school year are being held April 25-26.

Order Sheckler yearbook now

Flyers have gone home to place your order for Sheckler's 2012-13 yearbook.

The cost is $13 per yearbook. Payments can be made by cash or check. If paying by check, please make it payable to "Sheckler Elementary School."

The deadline for ordering the yearbook along with payment is May 6.

Please have your child return the order form to their homeroom teacher.


The Sheckler Skateaway Skating Party will be held 6-9 p.m. Thursday, May 16.

Ticket order forms, with all necessary information, were sent home this week. The forms are due back May 3.

CCHS teams with DeSales

Central Catholic High School's Best Friends Forever Club will be assisting DeSales University in their Arc Sprout Film Festival 1 p.m. April 20 in Center Valley.

The festival celebrates the talents of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities by showing films made for and about them.

The CCHS BFF Club, which works closely with the students of Mercy Special Learning Center, invites you to attend this film screening on the DeSales University campus. The event is free, but a ticket is needed for attendance.

Help clean borough park on Saturday

The Catasauqua High School Green Team is sponsoring a "Walk About the Park" cleanup 4 p.m. Saturday.

Those participating should meet at the skate park at the corner of Church and St. John's streets.

Bring your own trash bag (recycled preferred) and work gloves.

Participants will earn documentation for one service hour.

Light refreshments will be served after the cleanup event.


A reminder to all juniors that SAT Prep workshops are being held April 15 through May 2 and May 13 through 30.

Students place first at computer fair

Congratulations to Catasauqua Middle School students Katie Fisher, Bradshaw Henning and Nikitta Bacon for placing first in the Carbon Lehigh Intermediate Unit 21 Regional Computer Fair for their design of a logo for CLIU.

The students presented their project to and were recognized by the school board last Tuesday during the board meeting.

The students will move on to compete at Dickinson College May 7.


CMS PSSA Spirit Week activities are underway at the school.

PSSA testing begins Monday

I hope everyone enjoyed Easter break.

On March 27, Sheckler students in grade K-2 enjoyed having an Easter egg hunt at school, thanks to Mrs. Semmel and some students from Catasauqua High School. This was a fun event for the students.


The third marking period ended on April 3 and report cards are to distributed on April 9.


April 10 is an early dismissal day. Students in grade 1 to 4 will be dismissed at 1:30 p.m.
